FUTURITY RULES & REGULATIONS


GENERAL (applicable to all futurities)


Secretaries must keep accurate records and pass the information on to the next futurity chairperson along with the money that is forwarded each year from their futurity.
  1. ENTRIES will be accepted from all ApHCC registered horses with no limit as to number. The registered owner and handler of the horse must be a member in good standing of the Appaloosa Horse Club of Nova Scotia.
  2. ENTRIES must be registered in accordance with the rules of the ApHCC and REGISTRATION PAPERS must be present at ringside.
  3. The REGISTERED OWNER must sign the entry forms with the same name as found on the registration papers.
  4. NOMINATION FEES if $25.00 each must be paid on or before 30, 60 and 90 days prior to the futurity dates. If any on of the dates are missed it is to be made up at the next date given. If no nomination fees are collected on the dates then the owner/handler is to pay a fee of $100.00 on the futurity date. REFER to individual nomination dates.
  5. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS UNLESS THE FUTURITY IS CANCELLED.
  6. ENTRY FEE of $100 will be accepted up to five (5) minutes before the class is to run.
  7. In case of CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP, eligibility shall be TRANSFERRED to the NEW OWNER, without penalty.
  8. Ribbons and keeper trophy will be taken from the entries if there is no donor. If six or more horses are shown, the remaining money will be divided 30%, 25%, 20%, 15%, 10%. Less than six horses shown, money will be divided 40%, 30%, 20%, 10%.
  9. There will be ribbons to sixth place.
  10. Snaffle Bit horses must be ridden Western.
  11. In both the Jr. Pleasure Futurity and Maturity Pleasure, horses may be ridden either Western or English but must remain either or for the duration of the futurity.
